Meet Rosie and the Bunnies of Middleburg

Life on the Farmette is always changing. Between me as a full time Graphic Designer, my wife as a full time folk artist and the kids as full time kids, there's always something going on and each "going's on" is fighting for importance over the other "going's on".

Meet Rosie. I know, she looks like a stuffed display from the Chicago Field Museum in this picture but I assure she's not. She's alive and really gets around the farmette. She's been brooding lately (so have I, it's been cold for so long). She's just come out of what I hope is the last round of it. The weather's been so nice this weekend I think she's feeling her self again.

I took this shot too of the new bunnies this Sunday morning as they were eating their bunny food, embellished with fresh carrots. They are not camera shy. They really could care less as long as the food and water keeps coming.

Their father, Freesia is a black and white lop, their mother Chrysanthemum, who is twice his size, is an all gray rex. They were concieved back when we were having that awful cold Chicago weather and it was about 2 degrees outside. We brought the too rabits into our basement office in for a few nights until it warmed up again. Well, they must have both met in the middle of the night getting a glass of water because Chrysanthemum just up had 7 babies weeks later. (Oh, and by the way, they are ready to find homes so is you're interested or know of someone who might be, now's the time to make a comment to my first blog posting.

Happy spring everybody!
